Description:

An antermintic tablet against tapeworms in sheep, goat, horse, dog and other wild carnivores; against, Cysticercosis and Schistosomiasis (Blood fluke) in sheep and goat; against trematodes in dogs.

Composition:

Per tablet contains 250 mg praziquantel.

Indications:

TENIKUR tablet is used in the treatment of the following parasitic diseases:
Sheep and goat:
                -Monesiasis: Monezia spp., Stilesia spp., Avitellina spp.,
                and Thysanezia spp.
                -Cysticercosis: Peritoneal Cysticercosis tenuicollis.
                -Blood flukes (Schistosoma spp., Orientobilharzia spp.)
Horse:
                -Tapeworms: Anaplocephala spp., Anaplocephaloides
                mamilliana
Dog, cat and other carnivores:
                -All tapeworms: Dipylidium caninum, Echinococcus
 
                granulosus, E.multilocularis, Taenia multiceps(Multiceps
                multiceps),T.hydatigena, T.ovis, T.psiformis, T.Serialis,
                Diphyllobothrium spp., Joyeuxiella pasquali.
                Mesocestoides spp., Spirometra spp.
                -Trematodes in lungs, bile and pancreas ducts and
                intestines: paragonimus spp., Opisthorchis spp.,
                Nanophyetus spp.,   
CHARACTERISTICS:
Praziquantel is a spesific broad spectrum anticestodal against particular trematodes. It is quickly and completely absorbed from the alimentary canal following oral administration.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
TENIKUR tablet is given orally. Recommended Dosage againts tapeworms is 5-10 mg/kg for sheep and goat; 7,5 - 15 mg/kg for dog; about 1 mg/kg for horse.

SPECIAL DOSAGES:
Cysticercosis (Cysticercus tenuicollis): 50-100 mg/kg, 2-5 days.
 
Orientobilharsiosis: 30 mg/kg
Diphyllobothrium spp. and Spirometra spp.: 15-30 mg/kg, 2 days. Fluke in dog (Paragonimus spp., Opisthorchis spp., Nanophyetus spp.,): 22.5-45 mg/kg, 2-3 days.
 
Sheep, goat and horses are treated normally one time per year in tapeworm season. Dogs and other carnivores are treated normally 3 months intervals. Dogs in pasture be treated 1,5-2 months intervals where in Cyst hydatid and Coenurosis is widespread.
